Race Meeting Report Thursday Afternoon 8th January 2026

Thursday afternoon 8th January 2026 saw the Club run an eight (8) race program on a hot summer's day, the Club's first race meeting of 2026.

The meeting included three (3) memorial races, celebrating persons with associations with the sport locally. These were:

The Normie Moran Memorial
The Pam Verning Memorial
The Barry Schipp Memorial

THE COMPETITION WINNERS WERE:

THE PUB DRIVE OF THE DAY: was won by BRAD ELDER driving Be Good Benny from his family's Loath Park Stables in Race 3 the Tamworth Radio Cabs - 131008 Pace. BRAD receives a $30.00 Meal Voucher courtesy of sponsor The Pub, Gunnedah Rd Tamworth.

HAZELLS FARM & FERTILISER SERVICES LOCAL TRAINER AWARD:

(a random draw from the 67 phone area trainers, who have a horse engaged in the race meeting)

This week's draw was won by trainer: STUART GLASBY.

MEMBERS $50.00 MEAT TRAY DRAW:

This week's meat tray from Ford's Butchery was won by member no: 57 MARK LOWE who was in attendance to claim and collect his prize.
