Lola Weidemann is back and in a big way after driving three winners at Thursday’s Tamworth HRC meeting.
The Queensland reinswoman has been off the scene for an extended period of time after sustaining four broken ribs and a hip injury in a race incident at Redcliffe back in April.

At the beginning of the week Maitland reinsman Mitch Chapple thought he had missed the opportunity for a drive behind Mondo Seelster in the $7,650 Final of the TAB.COM.AU Winter Warmer Final at Tamworth after the gelding was declared first emergency.

Stacey Weidemann is making her name in the harness racing industry both in Queensland and NSW but last Thursday was the best day so far after gaining her licence last August.
Weidemann drove her first winning double at the Tamworth HRC meeting with Mac Sweet the first to greet the judge followed by Jacks A Smarty.
"This win was special as the filly belongs to my grandfather Ross who passed away recently" said Weidemann of Mac Sweet who had just won the Peter Jackson Bookmaker Jackpot $2,100 Pacing Pick Pace (1980m).

ALYESKA DREAM WINS PERC VERNING MEMORIAL
Perc Verning lived for harness racing at Tamworth. The veteran helped out in the formative years of racing at the Club as well as watching the career of his son Ian “Spud” Verning, but sadly Perc passed away just over a year ago aged 98.

Rosie oh Rosie! The name Rosie O’Rourke has been on a lot of lips lately as a horse to follow and last Thursday the Art Major USA- As It Is In Heaven 3 yo filly showed just how smart she is in taking out the $7,000 Nevele R Stud North West Oaks at Tamworth.
The $7,000 Select Autoglass North West Derby is a race that Dubbo trainer Brett Pay has been eyeing off for Remember Kaiser.

Narrabri reinsman Chris Shepherdson had a pearler of a day at the Tamworth Paceway last Thursday when he drove three winners in Big Riddle, I Want Candy and Rockstar Ruler.
All three pacers are trained by Shepherdson’s uncle, Peter Shepherdson.
"I drove four winners at a Narrabri meeting once" said Shepherdson "but I will take three here today".
Shepherdson is also placing the birth of his first son Cohen, with his partner Elizabeth, as giving a new zest for life.

Joan Bullock Memorial
Feature race at last week’s Tamworth HRC meeting was the running of the Joan Bullock Memorial with Artsu from the Ron Neal stables shining through for a 2.3 metre win over Courage Underwater and Alyeska Dream 3.8 metres away third.
With Courage Underwater (Cameron Davies) leading the field and Artistic Double (David Munsie) racing out in the breeze, reinsman Jason Proctor found the one by one with Artsu.
"I thought it was a good spot but all my dangers were in front of me" said Proctor of Courage Underwater and Artistic Double.
Matthew Harding will treasure his return trip to Tamworth for a while to come after taking out the $25,000 Prydes Easifeed Golden Guitar Final with Strathlachlan Andy.
Growing up around Tamworth before the family moved to Bobs Farm near Anna Bay, Harding had many a trials drive on the Paceway before gaining his licence.
