Harding Harding Harding

Bobs Farm reinsman James Harding cleaned up at the Tamworth meeting driving three winners on the program.

Harding kicked home his first winner – trained by his father Geoff - when Sackheim won the Thread Effects Two and Three Year old Pace over the 1609 metres.

“He came out great at Newcastle last start and I was pretty sure he would hold them today” said Harding after the win.

From the pole Harding went straight to the lead with Hot Rod Heaven (Anthony Varga) racing out in the breeze but Sackheim kept on fighting.

“They kept coming at him” said Harding “but when he saw the other horse he really got fired up and got on with the job”

Sackheim – a small in stature Roll With Joe USA-Never More gelding was the only two year old in the field and had a 3.9 metre win over Hot Rod Heaven and Rusty Fella (Stacey Weidemann) 6.8 metres away third.

Not only did the gelding hold his ground in the race but was just outside the track record of 1.59.00 set by Somemondosomewhere last July with Sackheim having a mile rate of 1.59.1.

Sackheim - who has had six race starts - has really put it all together in his last three after finishing sixth to Atomic Red (Amanda Turnbull) in a heat of the Australian Pacing Gold (2yo colts & geldings) Heat at Menangle – only beaten 4.5 metres back in April.

Atomic Red won the heat in 1.55.1 for 1609 metres.

“He went 55.4 himself at Menangle and just got beat” said Harding of Seikham “he has been racing against some good horses in NSW” added Harding.

Sackheim then finished second to Maxentius at Newcastle in the Alabar NSW Breeders Challenge for Two Year Old Colts and Geldings before heading to Tamworth for the win.

“We will head to Menangle next start to mix it with the best of them” added Harding.

Breaking through for his first win Sackheim is trained by Geoff Harding who also races the little two year old with his son James, and Canadian Carl Sackheim.

It maybe a few days before owner Carl Sackheim learns of the news.

“He is in Alaska at the moment and has no phone reception” added James Harding

The wins then continued on for Harding when he accepted the drive behind Hes Our Boy who won the  Prydes Easifeed Pace and is trained at Tamworth by Tony Missen.

With stablemate Bayside Resort (Josh Osborn) leading the field Hes Our Boy was three back on the outside running line.

Harding made his race move up the back straight on the final occasion to have a half neck win over a fast finishing Anna Bay Al (Nathan Carrol) and El Kay Grand (Mitch Faulkner) 2 metres away third.

“When I let him go down the back straight he really got going” said Harding of the Tinted Cloud—Barefootonbondi gelding.

The third win as a reinsman for the day came about for Harding in the following event to have an all the way win with the Craig Clegg trained Great Result in the Millenium Signs Pty Ltd Pace.

“Mr Clegg said to let her go off the arm” said Harding. “When she got to the front she felt strong all the race”

“It turned out a great result” said Harding tongue in cheek.

For James Harding it was a “great result” with it being the first occasion he has driven three winners on the card.

“I have had nearly 10 winning doubles but never a treble. It was a great day and I couldn’t have asked for anything better” added Harding.
